Turbidity Barriers

Turbidity barriers restrict sedimentation created by construction operations adjacent to bodies of water. Hanes Geo offers a wide variety of impermeable and permeable barriers that meet or exceed DOT and other environmental requirements. Barrier depth and length can be customized for most site conditions and project specifications.

  • TYPE I – impermeable barrier, used when no current or wave action is present.
  • TYPE II – impermeable barrier, used when currents are up to 5 fps or wave action is present.
  • TYPE III – permeable barrier, used when currents are up to 5 fps or wave action is present.
  • Anchor kits and lighted buoys are available for all types.
