High molecular weight, high-tenacity multifilament polyester yarns comprise the tensile load members of Hanes’ TerraGrid® uniaxial geogrids. These yarns are knitted into a dimensionally stable network then polymeric compound-coated to help protect against U.V. exposure and installation damage stresses. The specific carboxyl end group and molecular weight yarns of our knitted geogrids provide additional protection from chemical attack when placed within more active soil conditions. TerraGrid® uniaxial geogrids are non-biodegradable and resistant to most soil chemicals, acids, and alkalis with a pH range of 3 to 9.
